Misterioso Take 2

Our second take of Misterioso. I want to smooth out the transition of melody to solo section. The double time needs to maintain the same tempo. I worked with Chris right after class, and I think he's got it. Comment away!

  1. I agree that the transition from the melody to the solos could be better. I also feel like the background figures were off a little during Dom's solo, then got back on when Joe soloed.

I liked my solo, but I found that the end of my phrasing didn't go the way I wanted it to. I liked the ideas and lines I played in my solo. While listening back to this I could tell what notes I could've ended my lines on, but instead I trailed off to other notes that didn't end the line very well. This made it so that my lines (where they should've ended) felt like run-ons and made it so that there wasn't any space. So next time I can make sure I hit good ending notes that will fit with my line, and hit them at the right time so that ther eis some space.

    1. I like that Chris stays simple in the beginning of the tune with his quarter note ride pattern. I think this should be a simple song. We don't have to pull out all of our tricks for every song. It might be nice to have one that's laid back and elegantly simple. Once we get the timing n this piece down it should be really lovely.

  2. It should be a simple song. Sometimes it's what you don't play that stands out. Space is very important.
