  1. I think the groove feels much better on this one. Coming back into the groove after the longer swing break could use some work and I would like to hear the bongos cut out of the swing sections and maybe change to something else, but other than that this recording is a HUGE improvement on the last one. The more we play these songs and the more we meld as a band the better we will sound. As we know jazz is all about listening and responding to what you hear. When we are truly a unit we will each be familiar with everyone's unique voice and will be able to capture any audience.

  2. We have a really good tempo going in to this song. And the switch to the swing was well exicuted. And Dom "Hates that!" Nate was alot more confident on this solo. When everyone came in after the solos it was really powerful. Over all we were grooving

  3. We could tighten up the phrasing of the melody i.e. attack, release, accents. That usually comes naturally with playing the tune a lot and listening to each other.
Solos were good. Be careful of the changes coming out of the Latin section though. Overall, I'd like to hear the solos be more edgy and aggressive. Start to take some risks, and develop the ideas that you come up with rather than playing new idea after new idea.

  6. Sorry, I forgot to comment on this. I agree that this is a big improvement over the prior recording of it. I might have mentioned this on the previous recording, but there are a few parts in the 2nd latin part (after the swing) when the melody changes from the original one at the beginning of the piece that I know, but need to practice and tighten up. I also felt better on my solo today than this one.
